New announced investments in Chesterfield.

The 4th Annual Virginia Works Conference was held last October and was broadcast via satellite throughout the Virginia Community College System.

Carter-Wallace, the manufacturer of Trojan brand condoms, will be constructing an additional 20,000 sq. ft to their existing facility in Appomattox Industrial Center. The new construction is needed to expand their production capacity.

Bernstein US, a subsidiary of Hans Bernstein GMBH and Co., of Germany, has begun operations here in the Old Stage Corporate Center. They have purchased 13 acres adjacent to their current leased facility and plan to build a manufacturing facility and create 25 jobs.

Rehrig International is constructing a new 315,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in the James River Industrial Center, formerly known as the Reynolds Coach Road site, which is located near the Willis Road/I-95 interchange. The company is the world’s leading manufacturer of shopping carts and is moving to Chesterfield from Richmond.
