Wegmans Stonehenge Village Groundbreaking
Marchetti Properties LLC., owner of Stonehenge Village Shopping Center and Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Wegmans 120,000 square foot Midlothian store today at Stonehenge Village.
Wegmans will anchor the planned Stonehenge Village Shopping Center.
Stonehenge Village is a master-planned retail development that will contain approximately 230,000 square feet of retail uses, including a grocery store, restaurants and other shops. The project is located in a well-established retail corridor and is centrally located to serve the Midlothian community and the broader, highly suburbanized northwest portion of Chesterfield County.
The Store is expected to open in the spring of 2016 and will be the first Wegmans to open in the Richmond Region.
The store is expected to employ 550 to 600 people in full- and part-time positions. Wegmans has been on FORTUNE magazine’s list of the ‘100 Best Companies to Work For’ for eighteen consecutive years, ranking #7 in 2015.
Wegmans currently operates six stores in Virginia and will open a seventh in Alexandria in June. The company has also announced plans to open stores in Short Pump and Charlottesville.
